Hi, thanks for visiting my page! :)

 

My name is Joanne Wong and I'm a British-born actress of Chinese descent. 

​

My native language is English but I can also converse pretty fluently in Cantonese and Hakka.

I'm currently studying Japanese and I think I can safely say I am at conversational level now. ;) 

​

In terms of my acting style I would say I'm known for bringing bright, quirky and effervescent energy to roles, especially comedy!

I studied acting in Manchester, UK and I've performed with the National Youth Theatre in a Shakespeare production at The Lowry, Salford.

 

I'm currently based between the UK and Tokyo, Japan.

 

In Japan I've performed on stage in various productions with The Tokyo International Players (tokyoplayers.org).

I've also worked on several film projects with some currently in production. (Watch this space for more exciting news!)

 

I greatly enjoy experiencing both the traditional and modern aspects of Japanese culture, and so I have attempted to write travel articles about some of the places I've seen and visited at Japan Travel.com 

 

I'm also experimenting with vloggin on youtube and trying out different ways to vlog about my experiences in Japan.

My youtube channel, Japanda Wanders is definitely still a work in progress!

In terms of acting I hope to use my cultural experiences living in Asia with my British roots to bring unique and compelling performances to life on stage and screen.
